So this is why our site is called The Johnson empty nest. All there is, is one stupid, white tennis ball in the top shelf, third from the left. I don't know where it came from, it must have been while the girls where here last summer. The important thing is that the shelves were built for our family's shoes AND ITS EMPTY. No guilt...just a fact. Hence the name of this blog.
So I agree, this is NOT a pretty sight. But, it's early in the morning (10am -I'm going to hate it when I have to back to work) and Mom want's me to get ready to GO SHOPPING for Christmas clothes.
And so it starts. Here we are enjoying a peaceful meal at McGrath's. Great fish & chips and shrimp...awsome cole slaw.
The dinner conversation was.....getting clothes sizes. Here Mom is talking to Jenny.
We actually did pretty good. We got suits for both Zach and Joseph and dresses for Jane, Eliza...and who were those other two? Oh yes, Mary and Ali. Sorry no pictures allowed, Mom says you have to wait until they arrive...Probably next week, definately before Thanksgiving. ( Just not sure which one.)
By the way, I've put all the sizes on a single spreadsheet. So no, you won't get another phone call this Saturday asking for the sizes again. I printed it out and put it in Mom's purse. (Also, I'm thinking about sending you each a copy so if Mom forgets her's, Yep, you've got it, she can just CALL YOU!! (I'm sitting here chuckling...sometimes I just crack myself up. I know.... I'm pathetic, I've got to get back out there!)On another note. On our last trip to Philadelphia (Primavera), Dan and I stopped at a highly recommended place for "Cheese Steaks." Not just "Cheese Steaks", but "Philly Cheese Steaks". The real deal. So here is a picture of what we got. (What! No fry sauce....You've got to be kidding!I couldn't live that way.) No, I didn't get two, it just took two plates to hold one. I got too full, and I think Dan got sick. Needless to say, we we're done with cheese steaks for a while. (However, they sound pretty good right now.)
